A Chapel Moment That Marked More Than a Morning

This past Wednesday at Purpose Academy in Pompano Beach, something sacred unfolded.

At 8:30 AM, students gathered for chapel on the sixth floor of the Forum—the world headquarters of OneHope Global. Principal Naomi Peyton welcomed them in. What happened next wasn’t just another school assembly.

The Word of God opened to Romans 12:2

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…

The message:

“Faith That Anchors in a Shaky World.”

It called students to stop remixing their faith to fit culture, and instead let God reshape their identity.

And the response?

Stillness. Focus. Tears. Prayer.

These young people aren’t tuning out. They’re leaning in.

The Real Work Happens on the Fourth Floor

The chapel service may happen on the sixth floor, but the transformation continues every week on the fourth—inside the After-School Enrichment (ASE) Program hosted by Purpose Academy.

This program isn’t babysitting.

It’s discipleship, healing, and leadership training—strategically built in partnership with OneHope, Miry Clay, and The Christian Life Center where I serve.

Every week we:

• Dive deep into Scripture

• Mentor young leaders

• Create a space for honest questions and emotional healing

• Pray boldly and believe fiercely

Some kids walk in with trauma. Others with apathy. All of them are looking for something real.

And by God’s grace, they’re finding it here.

I founded Miry Clay based on Psalm 40:2

He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock…

That’s not just a verse—it’s my life story.

Now I get to walk with students who are in their own pits:

• Pits of anxiety

• Pits of identity confusion

• Pits of pain no one’s ever talked to them about

What we do on that fourth floor is help them rise—not by hype, but by the Holy Spirit.

They’re not projects. They’re preachers in the making.

So many of us came from dark places—addiction, incarceration, hopelessness.

But now, through Prison to Pulpit, we’re watching the same grace that pulled us out begin to reach back through us.

We’ve seen prison bars turn into pulpits.

Now we’re watching after-school rooms become altars.

These kids may not know it yet, but many are walking straight into their calling.

This is not random.
