Reunions, Revival, and Reaching Out: A Week of Divine Blessings

This past week has been a whirlwind of blessings and divine moments for my wife, Melissa, and me. Our journey took us to the charming city of Charleston, South Carolina, for a beautiful wedding at The Eternal Father of The Sea Chapel. My cousin Jennifer’s daughter, Katelyn, married her beloved, Tyler, in a ceremony that was as beautiful as it was touching.

Charleston provided the perfect backdrop for a mini-getaway. It was a joy to reunite with family members we hadn’t seen in a while, including my mom and two of my brothers, Victor and Kevin. We took a historic tour of downtown Charleston, discovering that its historic district is the second largest in the world, only behind Rome, Italy.

Lewis BBQ

Our culinary highlight was an unforgettable barbecue at Lewis BBQ. “All Hail The King” indeed – the brisket, ribs, and even the sauce were impeccable. Spending these days with Melissa was refreshing and re-energizing. We explored the waterfront district, capturing moments at the pineapple fountain, enjoyed lunch at Church and Union, and concluded our day with a delightful horse and carriage tour.

Returning to Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, we were ready to dive back into our ministry. Sunday was Pentecost, a significant day in our faith, marking the birth of the Church and the arrival of the promised Holy Spirit. Our worship services were incredible, filled with high expectations and witnessing miracles – blind eyes opened, hearts healed, and captives set free from various strongholds.

This week, we also prepared for our first regional outreach in Fort Lauderdale since the pandemic began. We rallied 500 messengers of hope for eight projects across Broward County. Good Neighbor Day was set for Saturday, May 25, and we hosted a prayer rally on Wednesday to prepare and encourage our volunteers.

Despite feeling stretched and overwhelmed, there was a divine peace that kept my heart focused on our mission. Broward County, with its 1.8 million lost souls, needs messengers of hope, and God has called us for this time.

Saturday arrived, and Love has No Limits, Good Neighbor Day. We mobilized 476 of CLC’s finest messengers of hope, spreading from East to West Fort Lauderdale. Our projects ranged from a beach cleanup to ministering to the elderly, and hosting a serve center at Walker Elementary in partnership with the city. We offered free haircuts, toy giveaways, and even literacy-building activities with Little Free Libraries.

Our team also served over 100 homeless individuals at Hope SouthFlorida and worked with LifeNet4Families, supporting the underprivileged community. We engaged in a paddle with a purpose and a street cleanup, collecting over 350 pounds of trash.

All in all, the day was a resounding success. I am immensely grateful for the leadership that has empowered me to make such a significant impact in our community.

Until next time, may we continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus, loving and serving those around us.
